Teddy's Story

The caring Mr. Teddy. Teddy is a gracious, easy-going Shih tzu and Terrier mix.

He is mad for empty water bottles and is well known for hiding clean laundry. Although often he pretends he did not realize it was the BIRDS food that he just ate, he is as tireless a sidekick as a pup could imagineably be.

It breaks my heart to tell you, but Teddy was found lost on the street, hungry, sick, and with a broken leg. Teddy was brought to ShelterPups.com where he is being cared for temporarily while he waits each day for his forever home.
Teddy wakes up each morning hoping this will be the day he finally finds a new human. Teddy is a friendly, medium energy dog. Teddy's gentle demeanor makes him the perfect adoptable friend. Some describe Teddy as "overly affectionate" . We recommend a home where he'll get to spend plenty of time with humans.

He is 100% house broken.

Before Adopting Teddy

Teddy is a friendly, medium energy Shih Tzu/Terrier. Be ready for action. Also, each dog breed has certain traits. Knowing a little bit about your dog's individual personality and breed personality will give you some clues about how to care for your dog.

Friendliness: The Terrier is a lively and alert dog. This sturdy, scruffy, little terrier is a good watchdog, and may bark to alert you of visitors. Terriers are extremely agile and can squeeze themselves through very small spaces.

Grooming: For a completely natural look, the Terrier needs to be brushed weekly and professionally groomed twice a year. The Terrier sheds little to no hair and is good for allergy sufferers.

Exercise: Terriers have great stamina and require long daily walks.
