Apollo's Story

Ladies and gents, introducing Apollo. Apollo is a gracious and jovial Black Lab.

He adores greek yogurt and is well known for barking at the TV. Apollo is an unwavering friend to humans (even though he sometimes wages war on marauding squirrels).

It breaks my heart to tell you, but Apollo was discovered living in a park under some thorny bushes. Apollo was brought to ShelterPups.com where he is being cared for temporarily while he waits each day for his forever home.
Apollo hopes for just one thing: a fresh start in a new home. Your home! Apollo is a friendly, medium energy dog. Apollo's happy-go-lucky attitude makes him the ultimate family pup. Apollo is often a little TOO affectionate sometimes and he is recommended for a home where he'll get lots and lots of attention.

He is already house broken and knows tons of tricks!

Things You Should Know
Before Adopting Apollo

Apollo is a friendly, medium energy Black lab. Be ready for action. Also, each dog breed has certain traits. Knowing a little bit about your dog's individual personality and breed personality will give you some clues about how to care for your dog.

There's a whole lot of Black lab in this Shelter Pup!

Friendliness: Black Labs are loyal, loving, affectionate and patient. They are very intelligent and will enjoy playing a long game of fetch. Make sure you introduce your pup to lots of friends so he does not become too shy.

Grooming: The Black Lab's smooth short-haired coat is easy to groom. Brush and comb their coat weekly with a firm, bristle brush. Black Lab's love swimming so make sure you wash out all the pond water after each swim.

Health: Black Labs loves food but make sure he doesn't eat too much as some Black Labs can become obese. Feeding your pup a healthy diet will ensure that he is feeling great.

Exercise: Black Labs LOVE the water and never pass up the opportunity for a good swim. Besides swimming, they can be taken on a daily, brisk, long walk, jog or run alongside you when you bicycle.
